25 'elements of nature' textures By Dave Nagel One of the great things about the paint engine in Adobe Photoshop is its ability to alleviate repetitive drawing tasks while allowing you to keep control of the drawing process. Most of our recent brush collections for Photoshop have been designed to take advantage of this capability by allowing you to paint textures and effects quickly into your image so you don't have to paint elements pixel by pixel or rely on plugins to take care of you effects for you. This week we have another collection along those lines, this one geared toward elements of nature.

The brushes
We've offered several collections focusing on natural elements in the past, including clouds, smoke, atmospheric effects, celestial objects, hair, skin, fur and other elements. (You can find these here.) This time around, we shift the focus a bit to cover vegetable and mineral textures and effects. This new collection (Nagel Series 25) includes 25 such brushes, covering grass and moss, sand and dirt, rock and other natural textures. Each one of these brushes includes its own set of dynamics and unique nibs, and they are all, of course, fully customizable to suit your needs better.


Here's a look at some of the brushes in this week's collection. Most of the examples below use a single brush stroke, though others combine multiple brushes to show off the individual elements better.
